Pretty Date is new date type for Sitecore that allows to display more pretty date format for different type of notifications.

For example:

- one second ago
- a few seconds ago
- yesterday

- last year

Pretty Date

It makes sense to use it if you really don't want to display exact date.
In this module you can easy create your own scheme for displaying. For this you just can change current scheme or add new item based on a scheme's template and set it in a field's  source.

Also it works in the  Page Editor mode where you can change date too.

    Pretty Date project

To install the module you just need to install PrettyDate package with the standard Installation Wizard.

    Add field with PrettyDate type.

In Content Editor select your item that has PrettyDate type and you should see next:

Pretty date is based on the DateTime and you can change a date like you do it for DateTime field and see pretty format. :)

Also you can use and change it in the Page Editor mode:

    Page Editor mode

You can change scheme for displaying your own appropriate format. /sitecore/system/Modules/Pretty Date/Date scheme/Scheme

For example you can change text "a few seconds ago" to "{0} seconds ago".

{0} is real second in this case. :)

Also you can add new scheme based on a /sitecore/templates/Pretty Date/Scheme template

and put it to /sitecore/system/Modules/Pretty Date/Date scheme/ folder

    New scheme

By default Pretty Date uses first scheme in the folder and if you want to use new one, you should set source of the field.

If your new scheme is "/sitecore/system/Modules/Pretty Date/Date scheme/MyScheme" you just should indicate it in a source.

I hope you find it useful for you.

If you have some problems or ideas, please let me know.
