Peek is a simple additional tab you can add to content editor to see differences in field data between publishing targets on the current item.

Do you need it? Well that's up to you! I built this mainly for our content pops and QA teams who will quite often query why some content isn't displaying on the front end. In large teams working on multiple items at once it's hard to keep track of which items have been published. They (and often us investigating!) had to keep switching content databases within the CMS to ensure the content was indeed published and it wasn't this that was causing the issues on the website.

To add the Peek tab simply download the correct package (peek only supports sitecore 8+) and install via the package manager. Peek adds some items into the core db and 2 files - DEK.Speak.Tabs.dll into /bin and into /Sitecore/shell/client/DEL/Tabs/Peek/PeekTab.js.

To add the Peek tab to a group of items navigate to the items _standard Values and click 'Configure->Editors' in the main ribbon. Select DEL/Peek and Save.
