About

When registering a goal for a Contact you can define extra data about the goal. Perhaps they have downloaded a Brochure, so you can include which brochure it was. Maybe they added a Product to their cart, you can register a goal AND define which product it was. You get the idea.

The extra data gives your Content Editors Context of what happened and the detail of the interaction.

You can pass this data via;

    Sitecore.Analytics.Model.PageEventData eventData = Tracker.Current.CurrentPage.Register(goal);

    eventData.Data = "some description or extra info";

 However, the Experience Profile does not show this information to the Content Editor. This module does all the hardwork for you, modifies the Experience Profile Pipelines and SPEAK app to display that information.

Nice.
